Application Support

We have compiled some guidance that we hope will help you to write winning applications for one of our programmes or bursaries and other job applications.

Try to fully understand the opportunity or job role you are applying for. Read all the information given and the criteria for applying. See what they are looking for in a candidate, so you can highlight where you have this knowledge or experience.

Discuss the opportunity with someone from the network. Our previous Fellows and bursary holders are often happy to talk about their experiences and offer guidance. Our motto is: Lift as you climb!

Use your authentic voice. In your application be personal and specific about you and your experience and how it relates to the opportunity.

If you use AI make sure it is only to give you ideas and a framework. Then personalise it and make sure it speaks for you. If you generate a response using AI and simply paste it in, it is very likely to be detected and given 0 marks.

For an application that includes coaching or mentoring, take some time for self-reflection and identify the areas that would most benefit you.

Ensure beforehand that you are able to participate fully in the programme. You will not gain the full benefits and may block a place for someone else who could make better use of it.

Good Luck!
